Power of oven
Hello,

By accident I came accross the oven reflow kit in the E&A beurs in the Netherlands, and spoke to one of you colleagues. He mentioned hat the power of the oven should be around 1400 Watts. I have an oven at home which I was planning to use for reflow but it is rated at 640Watts. Will this be enough or should I start hunting for a new oven?

Cheers.

Hi Geordy,

the recommended minimum Power is 1500W. The Oven in the Beta Reflow-Kit is a Severin To 2020.

640W will not be sufficient to reach the temperatures needed for the reflow process.

Here is the whole kit.

I also recommend the controller.

Re: Power of oven
Hi,

The PDF states a maximum of 1500 Watts load so I would guess that any over from 1400 to 1500 Watts would be fine for the controller.

I would love to order the oven as well but I estimate the shipping costs will be more then the whole oven, anyhow hunting around for an over is also part of the sport.

Cheers

Hi Geordy,

please share us your adress (state/country) and we can tell you the shipping costs. Also you can send us an email to inf@pcb-pool.com with your detailed adress and with your question about the shipping costs. Maybe the costs are under your expectation ;-)

Hi,

have you tested ovens with fan inside?
I have seen your oven (and most of the ovens on the market) capable of 230C, but lead-free soldering requires 250-260C. It is a problem, isn't it? Or does your oven go above 230C?
