Hi,
Below you will find the definition of a PCB.
Printed Circuit Board (PCB)
A PCB is a flat plateof insulating material that contains a pattern of conducting material. It is only when components are attached and soldered to it, that it becomes a working electrical circuit.
The most common conducting material used is copper that is plated with tin or tin-lead alloy. The most common insulating material is epoxy laminate. There are many other kinds of materials used, these would only be used in the more more exotic technologies.
Single and double-sided boards, are the most common style in mass- produced consumer electronic products.
Single-sided boards have all pads and tracks of the circuit on one side of the board. Double-sided boards have the structure that current can travel along the traces of one side to the other through through plated- through(conducting) holes called vias.
With multilayer boards, the vias can connect internal layers as well as the top and bottom sides.
With respect to Current global demand for PCB`s and the future outlook for the Industry, we think that things are going to be allright.
In the sense that the whole PCB industry is really moving at a very fast pace, some people even call it "The Blur". Customers are more varied and more demanding of good quality boards, that very simply if you do not keep with the times you`ll get left behind.
Allways remember Bob Dylan:
"You`d better start swimming or you`ll sink like a stone".
The softening of the US Economic growth will not have an effect on the World wide PCB industry as unlike 20 years ago the whole market is globalised. If prices are too high in one Country there is no problem to order in another. You e-mail an order anywhere in the world and it gets delivered to you by some of the Larger Courier Companies. Its no problem. A problem will occur if people belive that things can not be done without them. We are in a new age, of meeting the customers requirements efficiently, without fuss, and with good value for money. Those who adapt to survive will survive.
Example: Last year for about 3-4 weeks the D-Mark was very strong against the USdollar.During this period most big American Companies were sourcing Materials and Products in Germany.
Thanks for the question but I must say that this type of query does not specifically relate to the PCB-POOL(R).
